August 2021 e-calendar featuring our former student, Brain King Jiu Yang

We are proud to feature Brian King Jiu Yang, a former student at CEFL Bintulu, for our August e-calendar. He is currently in his first year studying Information and Communication Technology at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He completed the Cambridge Assessment English C1 Advanced exam at CEFL.

Brian has been actively involved in extracurricular activities ever since he was in school. The highlight of his achievements was when he performed and gave a TED Talk at his school’s Stage Day. While being active in extracurricular activities, he has always made sure he doesn’t neglect his studies. This attitude continued on to his higher education. He was a student representative of the university’s Foundation Studies Programme, but at the same time he managed to score a 6.88 GPA out of 7.0 in his Foundation year! He is currently the president of the university’s Programming Club and a member of the Badminton Club.

Effective learning requires the ability to strike a balance between study and play, and Brian has demonstrated that successfully. We hope his story will be an encouragement to many students. Kudos, Brian!
