On September 8 2024, the Hang Tuah Central Fire and Rescue Station came alive with laughter, excitement and valuable lessons as Cambridge English For Life (CEFL) partnered with IbuFamily for a memorable outing. This event not only brought together families from both organisations but also provided an engaging and educational experience focused on fire safety.
The firefighters from the station took the lead in teaching the children. Through fun and interactive demonstrations, they taught essential fire safety skills like how to safely navigate a smoke-filled room. One exercise involved the children practising rolling on the floor.
Parents were also actively involved in the activities. They had the opportunity to experience firsthand what it is like to be a firefighter by sliding down the fire pole, learning how to use a fire extinguisher correctly, and even putting out a controlled fire themselves. This hands-on approach not only made the learning experience more memorable but also empowered both children and parents with potentially life-saving knowledge.
One of the standout moments of the day was the exciting ride in the fire truck. Water play was another highlight that kept spirits high. The children ran and splashed around and experienced the powerful fire hoses. The combination of learning and play ensured that the event was not only educational but also a blast!
As a token of appreciation for their participation, each child was awarded a certificate for attending this fantastic event. The outing not only provided valuable insights into fire safety but also created lasting memories for all involved. We continue to prioritise holistic education, ensuring that learning experiences are both educational and enjoyable for children of all ages.
